Every day you will be presented with a biblical topic to help draw your nearer to your God and your husband. This devotional study was prayerfully composed with 30 days of biblical concepts and practical challenges to help you nourish your relationship with God and your relationship with your husband in marriage into ones that are captivating, intimate and extraordinary. Wife After God is a refreshing and inspirational 30 day marriage devotional for wives who desire to have a deeper more fulfilling relationship with God and their husbands. With those things in mind, I still felt that it is a good devotional series to help improve not only our relationship with the Lord, but also our relationship with our spouse if used properly with the right heart attitude and a discerning heart listening to the Lord’s leading. I do need to note that I didn’t agree with everything that was presented in the devotional as it wasn’t all strictly Biblical and some of the verses were taken out of context. Once again, this comes back to our own heart attitudes, so it won’t be an issue for everyone. ![]() I also liked the activities with the spouse, but I also know that some things will not always be possible due to the husband not being around or being busy which could lead to a little bitterness on the part of the wife. While I liked most of the discussion/reflection questions, I felt that some of them would have been better if they focused on us (the wife) rather than the husband as we want to make sure we’re trying to change ourselves and not our husbands. I appreciated how Jennifer’s love for the Lord and her husband was evident in all areas of the journal. If you want to see all the videos related this series, you can subscribe to the Unveiled Wife youtube channel. In this type of setting it’s, sadly, too easy to get caught up in negativity which hinders rather than helps marriages. I would caution you to make sure that you are lifting up your spouse and reflecting on how you can personally improve rather than placing blame on your spouse or airing dirty laundry. ![]() Currently, there is a facebook event where wives are going through this devotional together. The journal is also a great place to record prayers, prayer requests, and things happening in your marriage. Jennifer highly recommends having an actual journal in which to write and not just answering the questions in your head. (This may help others get interested in participating or allow them to think about their own relationship.) Finally, there are a set of journal questions to reflect on the topic that was discussed that day. If you’re on social media, you can share the status update that is included in the devotional. You will then be given an action challenge as well as a prayer. Each day, you will be reading a short devotional with a focus verse. Wife After God is a simple 30 day devotional that takes a look into what the Bible says about marriage. Do you want to improve your relationship with God and with your spouse? Do you want to start to build a better marriage? If the answer is yes to either or both of these questions, you might want to check out the Wife After God devotional by Jennifer Smith.
